U.S. Preventive Medicine Awarded Exclusive, Workplace Health Program for Innovative Self-Funded Health Benefits Plan, Health Options Plus™

Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) September 26, 2013

U.S. Preventive Medicine (USPM) announced today that it is providing the workplace prevention and disease management services for Health Options Plus™ (HOP), a new concept in self-funded health benefits for employers. USPM is widely regarded as one of the country’s foremost authorities and providers of workplace health and risk reduction programs. As part of its comprehensive health assurance plan, HOP will provide The Prevention Plan™ and The Prevention Score™ by USPM, using web-based reports and personalized coaching as tools to reach high levels of engagement with employees.

Health Options Plus™ provides turnkey plans that have been optimally designed to provide comprehensive Affordable Care Act-compliant benefits at a lower cost for both employers and employees. All plan designs include features employees want most, seamlessly woven into the design employers need, to control current and future health care costs.

“USPM is pleased to be chosen by HOP to provide best in class service in workplace health,” said USPM CEO, Rob Tazioli. “This decision was based on the clinical evidence of health improvement by users of The Prevention Plan and our high level of employee participation. The firms under the HOP umbrella have integrated systems and protocols for maximum efficiencies and savings.”

The Prevention Plan takes a three-tiered approach to preventive medicine. The primary tier is wellness promotion and education to maintain health. Secondary tier is screening for earlier detection/diagnosis. The tertiary tier is early evidence-based treatment to reduce complications and disability.

“It’s been proven that technology can assist the ability to comprehend risks and avoid them,” explained Mr. Tazioli. “The Prevention Plan with The Prevention Score brings the numbers to light for its wellness clients. It explains what the numbers mean, how to decrease them, and how to maintain a healthy status. Our program’s high rate of engagement is a key factor to success.”

About Health Options Plus™
Health Options Plus™ is a health Assurance plan that moves beyond mere insurance. This new concept in self-funded health benefits for employees is based upon proven actuarial and clinical evidence. It demystifies health, health care and health care costs.

“Health Assurance is really what employers are looking for,” stated Paul Doucette, president of Allied Risk Group, Inc., the developers of Health Options Plus. “It’s not about simply paying claims, it’s about proactively affecting positive change for employees and their families and reducing current and future healthcare costs for employees and employers alike. USPM is an integral part of this strategy.”

Health Options Plus is structured to provide comprehensive ACA-compliant health care services including coverage for all essential health benefits. HOP’s single pricing structure includes administration, pharmacy benefits, prevention program, care management, stop loss insurance, fraud and waste management.

“Small to mid-size employers, those with 5 to 500 employees, have historically been left out of the self-funded health plan market,” according to Doucette. “The time and complexity of designing and implementing a comprehensive self-funded plan typically makes them available only to large companies. Health Options Plus not only provides a suite of turn-key self-funded plan designs, it also provides agents and advisors with a simplified process to make these cost-saving options available to their clients.”

Self-funded employers can now have a seamless Health Assurance Plan that matches or exceeds what can be expected from a fully insured plan at a fraction of the cost and with improved health and productivity. Under Health Options Plus, employees are rewarded for staying healthy and helping keep the employer’s health care costs low.
