U.S. Preventive Medicine(R) Forms Strategic Alliance with Physicians Planning Group

PPG to Offer Groundbreaking The Prevention Plan to Employers

DALLAS, July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Preventive Medicine, (, the leader in disease prevention, and Physicians Planning Group (PPG) announced today they have formed a strategic alliance that will give PPG employee benefit brokers the ability to offer U.S. Preventive Medicine's groundbreaking prevention program to employers. Physicians Planning Group (PPG), an Atlanta-based employee benefits, health insurance and financial planning consultancy, will also offer The Prevention Plan(TM) to its network of physicians.

The Prevention Plan(TM) is a groundbreaking new health management program for employers. Using robust technology and thorough lab work, The Prevention Plan(TM) identifies the top five risks for an employee and then provides a physician review and customized, step-by-step plan to help them lower their personal risks. It's private, secure and completely portable. The Prevention Plan(TM) is supported with RN coaching, web tutorials, reminders and reward programs designed to change behavior to improve health.

"Our network of benefit broker colleagues and physicians support the goals of The Prevention Plan because the program makes it possible for individuals to assess their health status, ascertain their top health risks, receive a customized plan and ongoing personal attention to lower those risks, and become healthier," says John E. Redfearn III, Managing Partner, Physicians Planning Group. "We are very impressed with The Prevention Plan and are excited about a prevention platform and process that strengthens the physician-patient relationship and helps individuals focus on more of their own good years."

U.S. Preventive Medicine also will provide The Prevention Plan CM(TM), its chronic care management program that improves health outcomes and reduces expensive healthcare costs of individuals with existing medical issues. Other services are available through The Center for Preventive Medicine(R) and The Preventive Network(TM), which offers high-tech, early detection screening programs with affiliated physician groups, hospitals and health systems.

"We are excited to join forces with Physicians Planning Group to help curb rising health care costs by giving people the tools they need to stay healthy and productive," says Christopher T. Fey, Chairman & CEO of U.S. Preventive Medicine. "Our program will help improve health outcomes while reducing health care costs by lowering the number of hospital admissions, inappropriate emergency use and inappropriate medication usage, while providing education and support to improve participant adherence to medical treatment regimens."
