Profile America -- Saturday, September 29th. Today is a time to promote both fun and good health it's Family Health and Fitness Day. This 11th annual day will see locally organized events at hundreds of locations all across the U.S. The purpose is to promote family involvement, one of the goals of the U.S. Surgeon General's report on physical activity and health. Events will include organized walking, low-impact exercises, health information workshops, open houses, games and health screenings. Working out at a club and aerobic exercising each involve about 30 million Americans a year, while exercise walking is the top-ranked sports activity in the country, enjoyed by 85 million annually.
