Two Skechers Lawsuits Filed by Wright & Schulte Contends The Plaintiffs Suffered Severe Arm Injuries Due to the Alleged Defective Design of Shape-Ups
Date:7/10/2013

il on Exercise (ACE) and first published in June 2010 found that, “there is simply no evidence to support the claims that these shoes will help wearers exercise more intensely, burn more calories or improve muscle strength and tone.” (acefitness.org/getfit/studies/toningshoes072010.pdf ) [June 2010]

Skechers misrepresentation of Shape-Ups health benefits has been a major allegation charged in the various lawsuits filed against the company and has cost Skechers millions in settlement awards to consumers. In fact, in May 2013, a federal judge approved a Skechers $40 million settlement in a class-action Skechers lawsuit based on hundreds of thousands of consumer claims that Skechers intentionally misrepresented the health benefits of Shape-Ups in its ads. As part of this ruling, the court also found that Skechers is no longer allowed to run ads for its toning shoes.
