Turner Universal Awarded Contracts Totaling $227 Million to Manage Construction of Two Tennessee Healthcare Facilities

NEW YORK, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Turner Universal, a subsidiary of Turner Construction Company, was awarded two healthcare contracts totaling $227 million in the state of Tennessee. Turner Universal was selected to manage the construction of the Middle Tennessee Medical Center Replacement Hospital in Murfreesboro and the Bolivar West Tennessee Mental Health Facility in Bolivar.

The $184 million Middle Tennessee Medical Center Replacement Hospital will include diagnostic imaging facilities, a new emergency department, 10 operating rooms, 11 labor and delivery rooms, 32 intensive care units and inpatient care facilities containing over 286 beds. The 561,000 sq. ft. hospital is scheduled for completion in November 2010.

The scope of work for the $43 million Bolivar West Tennessee Mental Health Facility includes a 150 bed facility with patient and support areas and ancillary functions. The hospital will also utilize space from the existing campus for administrative and food service functions. The 150,000 sq. ft. facility is scheduled for completion in February 2010.
