Turbie Twist Proudly Receives 2013 Leadership Circle Award
Date:8/23/2013

Butler, PA (PRWEB) August 23, 2013

Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania has selected Turbie Twist as the proud beneficiary of the 2013 Leadership Circle Award. The award, given to organizations and individuals for contributions of financial and in-kind support, recognizes Turbie Twist’s commitment to giving back to the community.

Turbie Twist was able to support Junior Achievement’s mission to “Empower young people to own their economic success.” The company aided this mission by donating $8,000 of financial assistance. The owners of Turbie Twist, young entrepreneurs themselves, feel strongly about Junior Achievement’s mission to help educate children on how to succeed (develop skills) in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.

Angela Carr and Christina Cummings, entrepreneurs and sisters, took ownership of Turbie Twist in 2006 after they graduated college. They fell in love with the product while in school because it was easier to use than a big bulky bath towel. With the Turbie Twist they were able to get ready and dry their hair without a big towel falling off of their heads. They also loved that the product was affordable on a college student's limited income. The sisters knew they would be able to grow and market this product to a wide audience.

Since 2006, Turbie Twist has grown from a home office with two employees to eleven. The company has continued to grow and has released several new products this year. Turbie Twist is committed to supporting programs, such as Junior Achievement, to inform children on how to achieve a path of entrepreneurial growth and success similar to that of its (Turbie Twist’s) own.
