Triessent(R) Becomes HCSC's Specialty Pharmacy Provider
Date:1/27/2009

ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Prime Therapeutics (Prime) announced today that Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) has selected Triessent(R) as its primary specialty pharmacy program. On January 1, 2009, Prime began providing a portion of HCSC's health benefits business with specialty pharmacy services. By March 1, 2009, Prime will be providing specialty pharmacy services for HCSC's Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

The Triessent program helps clients address rising specialty costs by providing an approach to specialty pharmacy management that integrates across pharmacy and medical benefits. The Triessent program focuses on three core services as a foundation for complete specialty management: safe and efficient delivery of specialty medications; education and guidance from experienced professionals for managing specialty conditions and the benefits that apply to them; and an integrated approach that streamlines medical and pharmacy benefit management.

"Our relationship with our Blue Cross and Blue Shield clients ensures alignment of interests. Through Triessent, Prime can help our clients improve financial controls in this growing area without compromising a commitment to quality member care," says Tim Dickman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Prime.

"HCSC is excited to be able to partner with Prime in developing a comprehensive specialty program that is fully integrated with our medical management activities," said Kevin Slavik, Senior Pharmacy Director of HCSC. "With the implementation of Triessent, our members will experience the high-touch, personalized and coordinated care management they need to manage their health conditions."

Health Care Service Corporation is a Mutual Legal Reserve Company, an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
