TriWest On Deck to Support Fleet Week San Diego

PHOENIX, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its ongoing dedication to serving military members and their families, TriWest Healthcare Alliance signed on as a returning presenting sponsor of Fleet Week San Diego, a month-long celebration of Southern California's Service members.

Fleet Week kicked off its 11th year on Sept. 17 and continues until Oct. 27 with a wave of events to highlight the historical, economic and cultural importance of military personnel in San Diego, which has the largest concentration of military facilities in the country.

"San Diego's military community is an icon of service to our country," said TriWest President and CEO David McIntyre, Jr. "Our sponsorship of Fleet Week is an opportunity for TriWest to demonstrate our sincere gratitude and appreciation for our U.S. service members and their families."

TriWest's sponsorship will help fund Fleet Week's most popular attractions including:

* Port of San Diego Sea 'n Air Parade -- Navy ships carrying various

aircraft will cruise through San Diego Bay on Sept. 29.

* Coronado Speed Festival -- Features 225 of the world's most unique and

pedigreed machines at one of the most distinctive stages zooming around

a 1.7-mile track at Naval Air Station North Island on Oct. 6-7.

* The MCAS Miramar Air Show -- The largest display of civilian and

military aviation in the world, held at the Marine Corps Air Station

Miramar Oct. 12-14

* Fleet Week Golf Tournament -- Military and business leaders get teed

off to benefit the Navy, Coast Guard and Marines during a golf

tournament, dinner and raffle on Oct. 17.

* Salute to Our Wounded Warriors -- Oct. 23 luncheon to honor wounded

Service members and those who have supported them throughout their

recovery.
