- Gift Supports Home Front Needs of Families of Fallen Service Members -
RENO, Nev., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- TriWest Healthcare Alliance will present $25,000 to the Nevada National Guard Patriots Fund, which will support families of fallen Service members from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Scott Celley, vice president of external affairs at TriWest, will present the check to Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4 on the Flightline of the Nevada Air National Guard Base in Reno, Nev.
"As members of civilian communities, National Guard families don't have convenient access to the support network available at military bases like Nellis Air Force Base," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. "TriWest is making the contribution with the hope that we can help to bridge that gap for Nevada's Guard families."
There are currently 3,736 Nevada National Guard members. Since 2001, more than 70 percent of Nevada's National Guard has been mobilized for active duty.
"I am especially grateful for TriWest's continued support of Nevada's military families. Their annual contribution to the Nevada Patriot Fund helps ease financial burdens for the families of our fallen heroes," said Gov. Gibbons.
Gov. Gibbons has continually demonstrated his strong support for Nevada Guard and Reserve Members. For instance, in April 2007, he sent a letter to the Nevada Medical Association urging the organization to increase the number of providers the network.
TriWest's contribution is part of its "Giving to the Guard" campaign, in which it is providing support to the National Guard in its 21-state west region.
The public is also encouraged to contribute to the Nevada National Guard by making checks payable to the Nevada Patriot Fund and send it to Account No. 6655843909, Wells Fargo Bank, 5340 Kietzke Lane, Reno, NV 89508.
