- Gift Supports Home Front Needs of Families with Deployed Service Members
BOISE, Idaho, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- TriWest Healthcare Alliance will present $15,000 to the Idaho Guard and Reserve Family Support Fund to help support the needs of the more than 5,000 Idaho Service members and their families.
"As members of civilian communities, National Guard families don't always have convenient access to the support available at military bases like Mountain Home Air Force Base," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. "TriWest made the contribution with the hope that we can help to bridge that gap for Idaho's Guard families."
Alice Demarais, market vice president for the mountain region at TriWest, will present the check to the Idaho Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Larry Lafrenz, at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Boise's Gowen Field.
Since 2001, more than 3,000 members of Idaho's National Guard have been mobilized for active duty in Iraq, Afghanistan and overseas.
"TriWest continues to be a steady partner that recognizes the realities of military service and its impact on our families," Maj. Gen. Lafrenz said. "We are grateful to TriWest for this contribution, which can help make life easier to bear for National Guard and Reserve members and their families."
TriWest's contribution is part of its "Giving to the Guard" campaign, in which the company is providing support to the National Guard throughout its 21-state west region.
