- Gift Supports Home Front Needs of Families with Deployed Service Members

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- TriWest Healthcare Alliance will present $15,000 to the Missouri National Guard - Missouri Military Family Relief Fund, which will help support the needs of more than 7,700 Missouri Guard members and their families.

Don Brown, market vice president for the central market area at TriWest, will present the check to the Adjutant General of the Missouri National Guard, Maj. Gen. King E. Sidwell, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Missouri Capitol, 201 West Capitol Avenue in Jefferson City.

"As members of civilian communities, National Guard families don't have convenient access to the support network available at military bases like Whiteman Air Force Base and Ft. Leonard Wood," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. "TriWest is making the contribution with the hope that we can help to bridge that gap for families of the Missouri National Guard."

Since 2001, more than 80 percent of Missouri's National Guard have been mobilized for active duty. In early December, members of the Missouri Army National Guard's 205th Area Support Medical Company are being deployed to Iraq.

"TriWest continues to be a steady partner that recognizes the realities of military service and its impact on our families," Maj. Gen. Sidwell said. "We are grateful to TriWest for this contribution, which can help make life easier to bear for Guard members and their families."

TriWest's contribution is part of its "Giving to the Guard" campaign, in which it is providing support to the National Guard in its 21-state west region.
