Georgia Native Brings Impressive Credentials to Physician Recruiting Firm

Alpharetta, Ga. (Vocus) March 31, 2009 -- LocumTenens.com is increasing its depth of knowledge about the practice of psychiatry by naming John A. Traylor, MD, MS, FAACAP, to the newly created position of Medical Director-Psychiatry.

Traylor's responsibilities for the physician recruiting firm will include reviewing the credentials of psychiatrists applying for assignments through LocumTenens.com. He also will represent the firm before fellow psychiatrists at professional conferences held by organizations like the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

Most recently Traylor practiced with Kaiser Permanente Medical Clinics, serving as Chief of Psychiatry for two years in Richmond, Calif. and for almost six years in Stockton, Calif. He retired from clinical practice in January 2007. Traylor served active duty as a medical officer in the United States Army from June 1964 through December 1991.

"As an Emeritus Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Traylor lends a lot of experience and credibility to our Psychiatry Division," LocumTenens.com Vice President Kevin Thill said. He noted that Traylor also has served as president of the Northern California/Regional Organization of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, among other honors.

A native of Thomaston, Georgia, Traylor earned his medical degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He interned in categorical psychiatry with Letterman Army Medical Center at the Presidio of San Francisco, California. Following his licensure by the State of California, Dr. Traylor completed his psychiatric residenc
