LANCASTER, Pa., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Responding to the growing need for allied healthcare staff, Travel Nurse Source, LLC has launched a new program that presents qualified allied travel candidates to participating healthcare staffing agencies. The new service, Allied Travel Careers, provides the company with an extension to its successful travel nurse lead generation program. Staffing agencies that recruit travel medical professionals now have the opportunity to gain access to a larger pool of qualified allied healthcare workers seeking travel positions throughout the United States.
Allied Travel Careers is a monthly subscription service that provides leads to participating agencies representing inquiries from allied professionals specifically seeking travel assignments. These leads are delivered immediately to clients as soon as the request for information is submitted by a candidate. Like Travel Nurse Source, the number of clients eligible to participate will be limited. "In order to allow for the greatest number of conversions for each participant, we limited the number of subscribers in our travel nurse lead program to twenty. We intend to follow that same strategy for Allied Travel Careers and have targeted 15 agencies as the maximum," said Terry McDermott, VP of Marketing and Communications for Travel Nurse Source.
The cornerstone of the allied travel lead program is an aggressive marketing effort that drives allied travel candidates to a new website at http://www.alliedtravelcareers.com. The marketing campaign targets all disciplines in the allied healthcare sector with a particular focus on therapists. Said McDermott, "There is a very strong demand for Physical Therapists (PTs), Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Speech/Language Pathologists (SLPs). We invest heavily in promoting to the therapy categories because that is where the greatest need is. However we also are specifically targeting all remaining allied categories including Pharmacists, Respiratory Therapists, Lab Techs, Medical Techs, Surgical Techs and more."
The company has currently filled all client vacancies for the travel nurse lead program and is building a waiting list of agencies interested in coming on board. A similar level of participation is expected for Allied Travel Careers.
The ongoing and growing nursing shortage has been well-documented. However, trends also indicate a similar shortage of allied health workers could have a dramatic impact on the healthcare industry in the years ahead. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, allied health represents more than 50% of the fastest growing occupations. In addition, the Bureau forecasts that there will be a shortage of between 1.6 to 2.5 million allied health providers by the year 2020.
