Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuits Move Forward, as Bernstein Liebhard LLP Notes Upcoming Joint Conference for Federal Vaginal Mesh Lawsuits

Transvaginal mesh lawsuits (http://www.meshlawsuit.com) continue to move forward in a Multicounty Litigation underway in New Jersey’s Atlantic County Superior Court, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. According to court documents, a joint conference will be held on September 19, 2013, in all of the proceedings underway in West Virginia, including: In Re: American Medical Systems, Inc., Pelvic Repair Systems Products Liability Litigation (“MDL No. 2325”); In re: Boston Scientific Corp., Pelvic Repair Systems Products Liability Litigation (“MDL No. 2326); I n re: C.R. Bard, Inc., Pelvic Repair Systems Products Liability Litigation (“MDL No. 2187”); and In re: Ethicon, Inc., Pelvic Repair Systems Products Liability Litigation (“MDL No. 2327”). Firm partner, Jeffrey S. Grand is serving on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committees for these four litigations.

Vaginal Mesh Lawsuits
According to court documents, more than 20,000 vaginal mesh lawsuits are pending in the Southern District of West Virginia. Plaintiffs who have filed claims in the proceedings allege that that the use of transvaginal mesh products caused women to suffer serious vaginal mesh complications, including mesh erosion, scarring, infection, and chronic pain.
