Transition of Behavioral Health Services from WPIC-BV to Heritage Valley Hea...( BEAVER Pa. Jan. 17 /- The Beaver ...),Health

BEAVER, Pa., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Beaver County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that effective January 7, 2008, Heritage Valley Health System, through Staunton Clinic, is providing behavioral health services at the Rochester site. These services had been offered in Beaver Valley through UPMC's Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC). According to Commissioner Joe Spanik, "This transition has met its goal of being as seamless as possible for both consumers and staff. Beaver County Behavioral Health, Heritage Valley Health System and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic have worked hard to accomplish this and deserve much credit."

Beaver County Behavioral Health Administrator Gerard Mike explained, "I am very pleased that this change has occurred without disruption to services and supports. The experience we have had to date leads me to expect an excellent quality of care from Heritage Valley, Staunton Clinic. We are excited about Heritage Valley's expanded role in Beaver County's behavioral health network and thank WPIC for their many years of dedicated service to the County."

HVHS and WPIC worked collaboratively with BCBH to implement a detailed transition plan.
