TransactRx Releases Part 1 of Series – Buying Vaccines from Group Purchasing Organizations

Coral Gables, FL (PRWEB) May 08, 2013

TransactRx, the nation’s leading Medicare Part D Vaccine Physician Billing Service, announced today that it has released Part 1 - Smart Purchasing of its 5-part educational blog series titled “Running a Profitable Adult Vaccine Program in Your Practice”. The company will be publishing a new part each week of the series through June 9th on its new blog site:

Practitioners have always been scared of the term Buy & Bill. It usually means to them - "I have to buy and stock inventory on a product that may take me a long time to get paid and in many instances I am not sure how much I will get paid." This fear has caused many providers to not offer vaccines, leaving patients with the option of having to go to the local clinic. However, thousands of physician practices have found that they can implement a successful and profitable adult vaccine program in their practice.

One of the first steps in developing a successful adult vaccination program is making sure you are buying product at the best possible price. One way to do this is by purchasing through Group Purchasing Organizations such as Physicians’ Alliance of America. Group Purchasing Organizations pool their accounts for the best buying clout and pass the savings on to their members. This could help add a few more percentage points to a program's overall profitability. Every dollar counts. Group Purchasing Organizations are typically easy to join and free of costs. Many times they also provide additional resources to help support a specific vaccination program.

‘We’ve found from our successful physician practices that a key component to a profitable vaccination program is buying the vaccines at the right price and in the right quantities,” said Jack Guinan, CEO, TransactRx, “Whether you are buying from a GPO or direct from the manufacturer make sure you are buying in bulk and are asking for all available discounts.”

TransactRx is on a mission to inform physicians and other healthcare providers, “Vaccines are Good Medicine and Good Business.”
