DALLAS, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- TrailBlazer Health Enterprises, LLC, one of the nation's largest and most experienced Medicare contractors, announced today that Gil R. Glover has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of the company.
Based in Dallas, Texas, TrailBlazer Health Enterprises is a diversified government contractor, providing services to Medicare and other government programs. In 2007, TrailBlazer processed nearly 120 million Medicare claims and paid more than $20.5 billion in benefits.
Glover, a vice president at TrailBlazer since 1999, takes over leadership of the company from Martha P. "Marti" Mahaffey, who retired from TrailBlazer after serving as president since 2005.

Glover has more than 35 years of management experience in the health care industry, including work in both Medicare and commercial operations for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas from 1967 until 1981, and again from 1984 until he joined TrailBlazer in 1999. He also managed programming and systems support functions for Chilton Corp. and for Methodist Hospitals of Dallas. Since 2000, Glover has served as TrailBlazer's vice president for program management operations, responsible for the company's claims processing and customer service in Medicare and other federal contracting roles.
