Tongson Joins Conseco as Senior Vice President, Corporate Actuarial

CARMEL, Ind., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Conseco, Inc. (NYSE: CNO) announced that Timothy J. Tongson is joining the company as senior vice president and corporate actuary. He will report to Mark E. Alberts, Conseco's executive vice president and chief actuary. His appointment is effective Dec. 10, 2007.

Mr. Tongson joins Conseco from Swiss Re Life & Health Americas, where he has served since 2003 as executive vice president and chief actuary. From 2000 to 2003, he managed the Life and Financial Services practices of Milliman, an actuarial consulting firm. His 28-year actuarial career also includes actuarial and financial management positions at Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America; Mutual Service Life Insurance Company; Towers, Perrin, Forster & Crosby; and North American Life & Casualty Company.

A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA), Mr. Tongson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota. He recently served as vice president of the AAA Risk Management and Financial Reporting Council, as a member of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) Deputies Task Force on Reserve Modernization, and as a member of the ACLI Actuarial Committee.
