Throwdown, a Leader in Impact and Action Sports, Debuts Latest Innovations at the Newest UFC Gym™ in Rosemead, California

UFC® Gym™ opens its second flagship location as part of its national expansion plan revolutionizing the fitness industry by being the first to combine the world of mixed martial arts and fitness, while Throwdown®, one of the leading brands in action and impact sports, debuts new innovations in this facility.

(PRWEB) June 25, 2010 -- UFC Gym announces today the opening of another 40,000 square foot gym in Rosemead, California and has selected Throwdown Industries (“Throwdown”) as its official partner in providing key Mixed-Martial Arts (“MMA”) hard goods and an innovative new Octagon. The new UFC Gym in Rosemead will continue with the UFC Gym approach and feature unique fitness programming that will change the way people think about fitness. UFC Gym offers something for everyone in the family, including MMA programming such as Muay Thai kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, self-defense classes, and team-oriented Daily Ultimate Training to all-around fitness classes, training in the Octagon and a gym just for kids.

“We embraced this opportunity to launch our latest fitness training innovations with a premier operator like the UFC Gym,” reported Dave Vautrin, CEO Throwdown. “New Evolution Fitness Company/UFC Gym CEO/co-founder, Jim Rowley challenged us to provide a best in class MMA system and we delivered. We collaboratively designed, engineered and delivered multiple breakthroughs for the enhanced performance and safety of UFC Gym customers. “

“At UFC Gym, we continue to search for the latest fitness tools and techniques to add value and motivation to our members’ experience,” Jim Rowley said. “We challenged our partner, Throwdown to raise the bar and improve upon an already effective MMA system. They took it up several levels and we are pleased to offer their products in our newest UFC Gym in Rosemead."

Throwdown has been well respected since the inception of the MMA industry for innovative design and production of best-in-class equipment that is functional and safe to help athletes and gym enthusiasts perform to their highest potential. Throwdown’s innovation, coupled with the UFC Gym’s progressive training methods, provides a unique 1-2 combination that enhances the fitness and MMA experience for all members.

The first UFC Gym opened its doors in Concord, California in 2009, and has been providing the ultimate fitness experience for fitness enthusiasts and fans alike. UFC Gym’s atmosphere is motivating consumers to tackle fitness in a whole new way. With this newest flagship gym, they will enable their members to experience what it’s like to train like an MMA athlete, in a safe, family friendly environment, while seeing immediate results.

Throwdown’s custom-built 32-foot octagon is one of the largest event series cages ever produced. Beyond size, it features Throwdown’s exclusive Slam-Tek™ flooring system to cut down on noise, and the Throwdown Framing System, which features a flex zone within the cage platform, flexing with the force of the participants inside while preventing injury and promoting uninterrupted action. It also features an 18 oz cotton/poly canvas, grappling fencing, and large drawers that conveniently rollout from underneath the octagon. These one of a kind vented storage drawers help to store gear and items that are usually lying around the facility, helping to promote a clean and healthy gym environment.

The UFC Gym’s Elite Bag Rack System was designed utilizing a highly engineered construction schematic that focused on durability, as well as multi-functionality. Constructed using heavy-duty swivels and carabineers rated approximately 3,000 lbs each to support the bags, the Throwdown Elite Bag Rack was built to stand the test of time and withstand the rigors of day-to-day abrasion. In addition, it features the first ever monkey bars incorporated down the center to supply additional workout options while compounding the integrity of the entire structure.

“The Throwdown team delivers”, comments Mike Feeney, Senior Vice President, NEFC. “They have raised the bar for the UFC Gym moving forward. In fact, we look forward to working with Throwdown in developing future projects, as well as, continuing to upgrade existing facilities with their innovations.”
