This is the third straight year that Nurture by Steelcase, a company dedicated to improving healthcare environments, has taken the Gold Award for Healthcare Furniture at NeoCon. In 2006, Nurture's Opus(TM) Casegoods were recognized and last year, Opus(TM) Overbed Table won Gold.

"This product is a testament to the philosophy Nurture is built upon," said Michael Love, president of Nurture. "We develop research-driven, evidence-based solutions that become integral parts of the healing process."

Sonata(TM) casegoods enhance cancer infusion treatment by combining a personal environment with an integrated technology solution. Through defined personal space, easy access to belongings and proximity to family and care providers, Sonata supports patient and family needs while improving workflow and interactions by supporting care at the patient's side.

Sonata applications provide privacy without isolation and personal comfort through the use of materials and thoughtful function. The application solutions address a vast mix of needs including: personal storage, entertainment, privacy, guest seating, basic waiting activities and care provider work support. Sonata is a modular solution that can be moved and re- used or reconfigured as needs change and it can be planned independent of walls so patient environments can be created in infinite ranges of size and configuration.

Nurture Director of Product Design Alan Rheault said, "We're particularly proud that Sonata was recognized with this award. This cancer care solution is steeped in thorough research, with input from patients, caregivers and partners-in-care. They provided a wealth of information and insights into their individual needs and wants. It's rewarding to see that all of the thoughtful work and effort put in up front has come to fruition in this flexible, elegant, highly functional solution."

Nurture officially launched as a company two years ago at NeoCon, but the company is not new to healthcare. Nurture by Steelcase provides a comprehensive portfolio that supports a wide variety of healthcare environments. Years of research and partnerships with leading healthcare providers allow the company to tailor a wide variety of environmental solutions to specific settings.

In this year's Best of NeoCon competition, Steelcase Inc. companies won a total of seven awards -- three Gold, three Silver and an Innovation award for technology support.

Sponsored by Contract magazine, the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI) and the McMorrow Report, the Best of NeoCon awards recognize the top new products displayed at NeoCon.
