Phlebotomy Career Training is now offering a three certification program. The program includes Electrocardiogram Technician, TelemetryTechnician and the National Telemetry Association Telemetry Technician Exam. The best news is that these programs can be completed completely online.
Professor Kimmel understands that student’s need the personal interaction of instructors. “Many students hesitate to take an online program due to the fact that they feel that they will have no one to help them if they have questions. While this may be true for some online programs, it is not true for ours. Our instructors work closely with our online students. Many of our instructors speak with them via phone and email several times daily. It is with this personal interaction that our students can achieve a quality education and mastery of the concepts and materials. We go the extra mile by finding externships for our out of state students. It is truly remarkable. Several hospitals have already signed contracts with our school for out of state students.”
Electrocardiogram Technician and telemetry technician are two separate fields, yet intertwined in many ways. Therefore it is beneficial for the student to have both certifications. While some hospitals will require their employees to have the electrocardiogram technician certification, other hospitals will want a certification in telemetry. Professor Kimmel saw the need to combine both programs so that students could have the best of both worlds in their desired workplace. Having both the Electrocardiogram Technician and Telemetry Technician Certification allows students to work at either job.
In addition to the two certifications, Professor Kimmel has also purchased the license to one National Telemetry Exam for each student. This allows students to have three certifications. With each certification, the student is able to meet the demands of their employer. The national exam is a bonus.
With the national telemetry exam, students may enjoy the recognition of excellence as one of their achievements in the study of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation. The National Telemetry Association has allocated its many resources to produce a very challenging exam. Students who pass this exam are recognized as some of best at interpretation of arrhythmias.
“Student’s at the school still prefer to take these classes with a teacher. They feel less stressed and better able to process the wealth of information when presented by the teacher in a traditional classroom setting. For our out of state students, they usually cannot find these classes near them. Phlebotomy Career Training is one of the few career schools in the nation to offer a nationally recognized Telemetry Class. This is truly a feather in our cap.”
Students seeking to take the online classes can feel confident that they will have help every step of the way. Phlebotomy Career Training is taking education to a new level. Not just by offering personalized online classes, but by offering the classes with unlimited teacher assistance. Professor Kimmel has stated that some of their instructors are up late at night with students from other time zones, coaching them through some of the more difficult rhythms.
Phlebotomy Career Training recognizes the need for financial assistance for students. Typically three courses would require a student loan. Professor Kimmel has always had the motto that students education should be affordable and of the utmost quality. “We are here to teach, train, and mentor all students who come through our door whether it is at our school or online.”
More and more hospitals are going to telemetry wings. These are dedicated areas where monitor technicians are constantly watching the electrocardiogram rhythms of patient’s on the various hospital floors - including intensive care, cardiac care and medical surgical step down units.
Students with three certifications are able to choose from either work as an electrocardiogram technician or telemetry technician. Once students are able to prove their merit, they become very valuable to hospitals.
