CSIR is recognized as one of the world's largest publicly-funded R&D organizations having linkages to both academia and R&D organizations. This partnership with Thomson Scientific strongly establishes Thomson's credentials of high-end superior products and commitment to deliver exceptional value and innovation to customers.

To help promote the awareness of its ISI Web of Knowledge platform, Thomson Scientific has organized and sponsored the Best Discovery Event which was held on 10 Sep 2007 in New Delhi where researchers from the 45 CSIR labs were invited.

India has emerged as the fastest growing market for Thomson Scientific in the Asia Pacific region; the group has operations in both Chennai and Hyderabad. The Chennai centre combines authoritative information with innovative technologies to enhance customers' ability for better results. Thomson Scientific already has more than 500 employees in its Chennai operation which commenced in May 2007 and plans to make further investments in people, training and facilities. Since its establishment, the centre has enabled the research and business communities by providing cutting-edge life sciences information from patents, scientific journals and conferences.
