Thomson Healthcare Undertakes Medical Staff Development Project for IASIS Healthcare

ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Thomson Healthcare (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) has been selected by IASIS Healthcare LLC, an owner and operator of medium-sized acute care hospitals in high-growth urban and suburban markets, to complete medical staff development planning for eight of its 16 acute care hospitals.

Like other health systems in the United States, IASIS faces tough competition in recruiting doctors from a limited field of candidates. Thomson Healthcare, using its Market Expert(R) market analysis tool, is helping IASIS by characterizing eight markets to identify the current supply and project the future demand for primary and specialty care physicians. Market Expert will help IASIS by pinpointing the number of visits made to various specialists in each market. Thomson Healthcare strategy consultants will analyze the specialties and availability of physicians, identify market opportunities, and prioritize the recruitment needs for each hospital. Thomson Healthcare will ultimately recommend a recruitment strategy that complies with federal regulations and uncovers the optimal recruitment approach.
