Therapy Changes Announces Teen Support Group Therapy
Date:7/22/2014

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 22, 2014

Today, Therapy Changes announces the start of their Teen Support Group, geared toward teens ages 13 – 18 to help increase their knowledge and ability to cope with life’s stressors. Led by specially trained therapists, teens will learn how to make healthy and positive decisions while connecting with like-minded peers.

“Adolescence is a time of excitement and adventure, but also a time of major life transition and stress,” said Rochelle Perper, Ph.D. and founder of Therapy Changes.

“Teens can at times feel misunderstood, so rather than the therapists just giving an abundance of advice or opinions, teens are invited to a conversation and encouraged to express themselves in healthy ways.”

The goals for the teen support group include:

  • Adopt healthy coping strategies
  • Clarify goals and desires
  • Learn healthy communication styles
  • Increase self-care activities
  • Improve self-esteem
  • Manage social pressures
  • Understand relationships
  • Develop decision making and problem solving skills

Teens are welcome to participate in the group with the consent of all legal guardians. The cost for each session is $45.00 and a family intake interview is required prior to joining at a one-time cost of $80.00. To learn more, or to schedule an intake interview, contact Therapy Changes at 619-275-2286.
