TheWrap.Com Announces MPTF is Responding to Media Investigation
Date:2/11/2009

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- TheWrap.Com announced today that its investigation into the closure of the Motion Picture and Television Fund hospital and long-term care has resulted in a MPTF press conference on Wednesday.

The sudden news conference comes on the heels of TheWrap.Com's publication of a two-part series investigating the finances of the non-profit institution published on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

The Fund announced the closure of its hospital and long-term care facility in January, resulting in the lay-offs of two-thirds of the facility's staff and the displacement of 100 elderly and sick residents.

TheWrap.Com's investigation shows that contrary to public statements, the Fund's tax returns and an independent audit do not show a $10 million shortfall.
