The event, held at the YMCA San Francisco, aimed at raising awareness of the need for access to more affordable healthcare and medicine for Americans nationwide. In attendance were a wide-range of community organizers, thought leaders, government officials, and members of the San Francisco community.

San Francisco City & County Supervisor Sean R. Elsbernd opened the event with remarks stressing the importance of programs in the city, like Healthy San Francisco and the work conducted by the Health Service System.
