The Ruth Group Launches Healthcare Marketing Communications Unit

Complements Existing Strong Position in Healthcare Investor and Media Relations

Appoints Industry Veteran to Head Practice

NEW YORK, March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ruth Group (TRG), a full service investor and public relations agency dedicated to healthcare and technology, announced today the expansion of its communications consulting services to include healthcare marketing. The initiative leverages TRG's strong track record and healthcare client portfolio focused on investor relations and public relations. TRG will provide existing and potential healthcare clients with marketing strategies for product launches, clinical trial recruitment, sales force support, patient advocacy programs, and physician outreach programs.

To lead the new marketing communications team, TRG has appointed Scott Lerman as Vice President. Lerman has 15 years of healthcare communications experience in implementing marketing plans across multiple medical disciplines and products, including Novo Nordisk's portfolio of insulin products and AstraZeneca's respiratory franchise.

Carol A. Ruth, Founder, CEO and President of The Ruth Group, commented, "This strategic initiative is an excellent complement to our expertise in healthcare investor relations and public relations. It maximizes our integrated approach to serving our emerging healthcare clients and is a natural fit with our present portfolio. It also allows us to consult healthcare companies that are looking to drive visibility among the medical and scientific communities, as well as consumer and advocacy groups. The unit will focus on drug, device and healthcare services launches, patient and physician education, clinical trial recruitment and other marketing initiatives, serving to enhance TRG's ongoing media and investor relations efforts."

"Over the last nine years, we have built an agency whose brand has become synonymous with healthcare investor relations with dedicated professional teams focused on medical technology/devices, biopharmaceuticals, and healthcare services. Our integrated programs include financial and trade media efforts headed by senior vice president, Jason Rando, and support scientific and medical milestones."

Scott Lerman, Vice President, said, "I am thrilled to join The Ruth Group team, which has long been recognized as a leader in healthcare focused investor relations. I look forward to working with this first-class team to provide a new suite of services to companies seeking to break through in this challenging environment."

Mr. Lerman has a range of healthcare marketing experience. Among his most recent initiatives, he led a campaign to raise awareness for newer and "greener" asthma inhalers for Allergy and Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics (AANMA). As a vice president at Marina Maher Communications, Mr. Lerman worked on creative and strategic plans, including a brand awareness campaign for Eisai/PriCara's AcipHex(R). He has also held various positions at large and boutique corporate communications agencies, including Burson-Marsteller, Rowland Communications, Chamberlain Communications Group, and Ketchum.
