EPHRATA, Pa., Oct. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Are you a breast or cervical cancer researcher in PA looking for additional research funding? The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) is awaiting your grant application for the PBCC's Breast and Cervical Cancer Income Tax Check-off Grants. The grant funding cycle is July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011.

To download the Request for Application (RFA) visit www.pabreastcancer.org/tax. Letters of Intent are due by October 23, 2009 and Full Applications are due by November 20, 2009. "I'm thrilled to announce this wonderful opportunity for Pennsylvania's breast and cervical cancer researchers," said Pat Halpin-Murphy, President and Founder of the PBCC. "I believe that the cure for breast and cervical cancer lies in the hands of one of these talented scientists. I'm proud to say that the PBCC will have a part in granting them the funds they deserve."

The PBCC's income tax check-off legislation allows Pennsylvanians to donate their state tax refund to breast and cervical cancer research. So far, the program has raised over $2 million. One hundred percent of the money is distributed as grants to outstanding researchers across the state.

The PBCC's Income Tax Check-Off for Breast and Cervical Cancer Research Initiative continues to be the favorite among state taxpayers. Tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians donate their state tax refunds to breast and cervical cancer research, with an average donation of $8 per donor.

The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition represents, supports and serves breast cancer survivors and their families in Pennsylvania through education programming, legislative advocacy and breast cancer r
