The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary Announces Partnership with ZocDoc
Date:12/10/2009

NEW YORK, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, located at 14th Street and Second Avenue in Manhattan and one of the nation's leading providers of ophthalmology, otolaryngology and plastic surgery services, today announced its partnership with ZocDoc, the service to find and book doctor appointments online. This partnership with ZocDoc illustrates NYEE's commitment to providing cutting-edge service and convenience to the public.

In collaboration with ZocDoc, NYEE will now offer patients useful insurance and scheduling information about the quality medical professionals for which it is renowned. An enhanced online physician directory will enable visitors to the NYEE website to search by insurance and locate appropriate specialists and sub-specialists, while positioning NYEE to receive more of the referrals and cases it is uniquely qualified to handle.

"Recognizing the value and importance of the internet as a vehicle to inform the public and the medical profession, we are pleased to have added fresh design and improved functionality to our website, www.nyee.edu," said Allan Fine, vice president for strategy and business development. "More than 100,000 visitors a year search our site for physician information, and our site can offer them the most current and convenient data available 24/7."

The new partnership also empowers patients to make better informed decisions about where to obtain care, and when. Another feature of the NYEE physician directory allows patients to book appointments directly online with doctors who choose to make their schedules available online.

"We are very proud to be serving the people of New York City with the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary," said Cyrus Massoumi, CEO and co-founder of ZocDoc. "Both ZocDoc and NYEE are dedicated to improving healthcare for patients, and we look forward to helping more people find doctors and make appointments in a faster, easier way."
