The Kidney TRUST's Chronic Kidney Disease Rapid-Screening Program Hits 10,000

Staff and volunteers of The Kidney TRUST performed their 10,000th screen for chronic kidney disease ("CKD") during a health fair in Oakland, California in late July. The TRUST's screening program, which was launched in October 2007, is conducted in partnership with employers and community organizations around the country. The goal of the program is to identify individuals with signs of CKD, ideally in relatively early stages when it is still treatable, and to motivate them to seek appropriate medical evaluation and care and lifestyle changes. Recent studies show that an estimated 26 million Americans have CKD, and 90% don't know it.

Burlingame, CA (PRWEB) August 10, 2009 -- Staff and volunteers of The Kidney TRUST performed their 10,000th screen for chronic kidney disease ("CKD") during a health fair at La Clinica de la Raza in Oakland, California in late July.

The TRUST's screening program, which was launched in October 2007, is conducted in partnership with employers and community organizations around the country. The goal of the program is to identify individuals with signs of CKD, ideally in relatively early stages when it is still treatable, and to motivate them to seek appropriate medical evaluation and care and lifestyle changes. Recent studies show that an estimated 26 million Americans have CKD, and 90% don't know it.
