It’s time to admit it; the intrepid hot tub used in MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ was a Bullfrog Spa.
Salt Lake City, Utah (Vocus) April 13, 2010 -- Ever wonder where the hot tub in MTV’s Jersey Shores came from? Well, although they have been understandably reluctant to point it out, Bullfrog International is ready to admit that it is a Bullfrog Spa. Anyone who has seen the show or, worse yet, viewed “highlights” of the big hot tub party called these people’s lives, will understand the reluctance of corporations to cozy up. However, now that the orange glow of fake tanning dust in the spotlight has settled a bit, the people at Bullfrog are ready to come clean.
The hot tub (let’s call it “The J-SHORR”) used in the reality program is actually a Model 662 Bullfrog Spa, provided by Bullfrog Spas and Budd’s Pools and Spas of Deptford, New Jersey. When MTV came calling Bullfrog execs should have known that in some way the unwitting tub would make portable spa history, kind of like the Alamo of the spa industry’s campaign to show the family-friendly benefits of hot tubs. Nobody, however, could have predicted the degree of infamy this particular hot tub would achieve.
Bullfrog, however, is happy to point out that the controversial reality show actually highlights some of the best features of Bullfrog Spas. Bullfrog Spas are the only hot tubs powered by the innovative JetPak® System of modular hot tub jets. This means that the cast of Jersey Shore was able to choose their spa jetting options and customize their water-powered massages at any time (most of the spa scenes were actually alcohol-powered).
Also, because of the patented JetPak® System, the present owner of The J-SHORR will be able to change and upgrade their JetPaks at any time in the future. Yes, there is a future for the resilient apparatus. Even after extensive “use” (read abuse), the J-SHORR still works perfectly, a testament to its durable UniSystem™ construction and WellSpring™ filtration system.
Feedback on the raucous TV show has revealed a range of reactions from mild displeasure to abhorrence and shock from both sponsors and the public. Bullfrog’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Jaden Kemp, recently expressed his utter horror, “I am utterly horrified.”
However, feedback on the Bullfrog Spa itself has been very positive. Bullfrog’s Website Manager, Clay Norman, lauded its performance: “I am seriously impressed. That Jersey Shore hot tub has been through Hell, pretty much literally, and it is still working perfectly. Wow! Or, should I say J-WOWW!?”
