ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month, The HealthCentral Network's (http://www.HealthCentral.com) MyDiabetesCentral.com has launched an interactive information center with leading resources on pre-diabetes and diabetes risk, including an assessment where users can gauge their risk of type 2 diabetes. HealthCentral's Diabetes Awareness Month center is available at http://www.healthcentral.com/diabetes/awareness-month-2008.html.

"The growing global epidemic of diabetes is an underappreciated problem of world-wide dimensions," said Dr. William Quick, endocrinologist and MyDiabetesCentral.com expert. Diabetes affects more than 23 million people in the US and more than 90% of diagnoses are type 2.
