The Gluten Free Society Talks About Vitamin Contamination

The Gluten Free Society is launching an awareness campaign. Currently, there are over twelve million websites dedicated to the topic of gluten contamination in relation to vitamin and mineral supplements. In an effort to educate all Americans on the importance of reading labels, especially when it comes to vitamins and minerals, the Gluten Free Society has dedicated a page of its website to the issue.

“Multiple studies have shown the relationship between vitamin and mineral deficiencies and gluten intolerance and celiac disease. It is well established that damage to the intestinal cells can lead to malabsorption and poor digestion,” says Dr. Peter Osborne of the Gluten Free Society. “I decided to dedicate a page on the society’s website to this issue because most people don’t realize vitamin and mineral supplements contain fillers. One in 133 Americans have Celiac disease. Since people don’t associate vitamins as potentially harmful, gluten contaminated supplements can really do damage to a person’s health!”

The Gluten Free Society’s page offers an informative synopsis of the major product label terms concealing what really is gluten. Access to the website is 100% free and confidential. Celiac disease can lead to a number of other disorders including infertility, reduced bone density, neurological disorders, some cancers, and other autoimmune diseases.
