Long-term changes in lifestyle, delicious and active Mediterranean lifestyle are cure

In his new book, "The Globe's Best Diet: The Metabolic Syndrome Cure" (published by iUniverse), Ray Adamcik M.D., a physician and board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist, addresses the worldwide epidemic of obesity, diabetes and the metabolic syndrome. The book is based on the results of hundreds of scientific articles and on the doctors' experience with patients suffering from these conditions.

Dr. Adamcik's model takes the approach that the more enjoyable the food, the more likely the patient will maintain a healthy diet for a lifetime. He advocates the Mediterranean diet, which is not only one of the most delicious diets in the world, but is also believed to be the world's healthiest. The Mediterranean lifestyle includes a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables and a great deal of active exercise. Dr. Adamcik's diet adds elements from other regions in order to incorporate the addition of Omega-3 fatty acids, nuts, mono-saturated fats and flavonoids.
