Date:9/27/2013

Delray Beach, FL (PRWEB) September 27, 2013

The Delray Recovery Center is co-hosting a workshop in conjunction with WestBridge and The Renfrew Center. The workshop is titled: “Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders”. The event takes place on Friday, October 25, 2013, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at NOVA Southeastern University, 4859 Millenia Boulevard in Orlando, Florida. The cost of the workshop is $25 and includes a light breakfast and lunch.

A prime educational opportunity for professionals in the mental health field, the workshop is worth 5.0 CEUs and features a trio of knowledgeable leaders. They are Mary Woods, CEO of WestBridge; Sarah Gentry, Clinical Director of The Delray Recovery Center; and Gail Brooks, Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer of The Renfrew Center.

“In order to address the needs of men and women in recovery, we need to understand the key issues in gender differences and how they relate to co-occurring disorders. In this workshop, we will address how to integrate gender specific treatment into your practice,” said Sarah Gentry of The Delray Recovery Center.

Each workshop presenter brings her unique background and experience to the event.

WestBridge’s Mary Woods, RNC, LADC, MSHS, has more than 20 years experience working with people with co-occurring disorders in programs that range from residential to community based services. Her background additionally includes four years as a registered nurse in the operating room, 30 years in the addiction treatment field, and addiction education and assessments for New Hampshire State Prison’s First Step Program.

The Renfrew Center’s Gayle Brooks, PhD, has more than 25 years experience in the field of eating disorders, for which she has received significant recognition. In addition to serving as the eating disorder specialist in the HBO film Thin, she has appeared on Good Morning America and been featured in a lengthy list of publications ranging from People magazine to The New York Times.

The Delray Recovery Center’s Sarah Gentry, LMHC, CAP, has spent more than a decade treating people suffering from chemical dependency, trauma, eating disorders, and co-occurring disorders. As The Delray Recovery Center’s Clinical Director, Gentry develops individualized treatment plans that help clients effectively move through the center’s 5 phase step-down continuum of care. She has been a frequent guest speaker at nationwide conferences.

Workshop check-in is at 8:30 am, with presentations at 9 am, 10:45 am, and 1:30 pm.
