The Best Summer Experience -- Asthma Adventure Camp

A camp for children with asthma

SPRINGFIELD, Ill., April 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Does your child suffer from asthma? Would you like your child to have an opportunity to attend a summer camp designed specifically for children with asthma, staffed by trained counselors, nurses, respiratory therapists and physicians? The American Lung Association of Illinois is planning their annual Asthma Adventure Camp programs. We are hosting two sites this year. During the week of July 6-11, our camp will be held at the YMCA - Camp Duncan, in Northern Illinois, near Fox Lake. During Labor Day Weekend, August 30 - September 1, our camp will be held at the Lake Williamson Conference Center in Carlinville, Illinois.

Traditional camping activities like hiking, swimming, basketball, soccer, climbing wall and canoeing are scheduled throughout the week or weekend. Campers will participate in special evening activities as well. A vital and integral part of camp is asthma education, which is facilitated by our medical team.

Camper requirements are as follows: age 7 - 14; and diagnosed with asthma. A medical infirmary is set up at camp with a complete medical team and trained counselors to watch over the campers.

We are currently recruiting nurses and respiratory therapists for our medical team as well. Be a part of our team and help make a difference in a child's life.
