Port St. Lucie, Florida (PRWEB) September 28, 2009 -- The Joint Commission, formerly known as JCAHO - The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, audits selected healthcare facilities for adherence to the high standard put forth by the commission. Those facilities that are able to meet the standards of the Joint Commissions Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for their field are awarded the Gold Seal of Approval by the Commission and become fully accredited. According to the Joint Commission's website, earning an accreditation proves that a facility is "continually working to provide the highest quality services".
The Ambrosia Treatment Centers, which consist of Ambrosia Substance Abuse Treatment Center in Port St Lucie, FL and Ambrosia of the Palm Beaches on Singer Island, FL each, took part in an exhaustive survey for a total of five days in September 2009. During this survey, a Joint Commission surveyor held interviews with both staff and patient, and scrutinized the charts and physical plant of the drug rehab center.
