VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The AMERIGROUP Foundation today announced that Senator Tommy Williams of The Woodlands has been honored with its "Champion for Children" award.

The award is part of the AMERIGROUP Foundation's national program recognizing outstanding public advocacy efforts by government and community leaders in improving the health and well-being of the nation's children.

To commemorate Senator Williams' commitment to children and their families a $2,500 Foundation check will be presented to the Interfaith of The Woodlands during a reception at the facility.
