The Andrews Institute brings national attention to sports musculoskeletal ultrasound, hosting their second sports musculoskeletal conference chaired by medical director and renowned sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews

Gulf Breeze, Fla. (Vocus) July 16, 2009 -- The second Sports Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course hosted by the Andrews Institute will attract top physicians, surgeons and other professionals from around the country July 16-18, 2009. The three day course will cover the techniques and applications of diagnostic and interventional sports medicine/musculoskeletal ultrasound in major joints of the body related to sports medicine injuries.

With the first course selling out, the second course expects the same success with participants registered from around the globe. The conference will cover a range of sports musculoskeletal ultrasound including training for the shoulder, knee, elbow, hand, wrist, foot and ankle, and muscle/soft tissue injury. One unique aspect will include how NFL and Olympic physicians utilize this during games and practices and how it can make an immediate impact in the diagnosis of an injury.

Another exclusive trend that is taking hold in the sports world is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy. PRP is blood plasma with concentrated platelets.
