HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Chantel 'Chani' Christie, teen pop star, and daughter of NBA power couple Doug and Jackie Christie, is set to launch her new Chani Girl Foundation on December 1, 2008 which is World AIDS Day. To kick off her new charity she plans to donate 300 of her bestselling book, 'I Want To Live: A Teenager's Guide To Finding Self Love', to youth across the world in her global effort to bring education and awareness.
"It is an honor to launch my new charity foundation, to help educate and inspire while also empowering teens everywhere to not only know their status but to also help them with much needed resources to better their lives," Chani expresses.
Chani, the United States Youth Ambassador for HIV/AIDS Awareness and the Youth Spokesperson for the YMCA continues her leadership to serve and help others this holiday season by sponsoring five families with children, for Thanksgiving and Christmas by providing food, toys and clothing to help brighten their holidays and ease the burden of the struggling economy.
"I do have future plans to go out and raise funds to help with my foundation but for now people can go to my website and donate: what they can. Right now I plan to continue funding my foundation by working hard and using the proceeds from my music career and my book to fund my philanthropic endeavors," Chani states.
Chani, a recording artist, actress, and author uses all of the proceeds from her many talents to fund her foundation. She plans to also include programs in the future that assist students with tuition for college.
