KNOXVILLE, Tenn., June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- TeamHealth announced today that Heidi S. Allen has joined TeamHealth as senior vice president and general counsel, reporting directly to the CEO. Ms. Allen is assuming the position previously held by Robert Joyner, who will retire on July 31, 2008, after nine years with TeamHealth.
In this role, Ms. Allen will serve as a member of TeamHealth's senior management team, working with all departments and divisions within the organization and advising management personnel on a wide range of legal issues, including transactions, human resources, and professional liability insurance.
Ms. Allen received her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and served as an Assistant United States Attorney for 11 years. She has been admitted to state and federal courts in South Carolina and New Jersey. Ms. Allen has more than 25 years of experience in corporate healthcare law, including positions as an associate general counsel with Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and most recently as associate general counsel, U.S. Litigation and Investigations, with SANOFI-AVENTIS, where she spent the last 5 years.
