    Considered one of today's largest health crises, diabetes currently affects nearly 24 million in the U.S. and another 57 million are at risk. Although, there is no cure for diabetes, increased physical activity and proper nutrition can help manage and reduce complications as well as prevent type 2 diabetes.

    In addition to supporting the Tour de Cure, Gold's Gym has worked with the ADA to develop a variety of initiatives and resources that support the fight against diabetes. This includes a special guide on how to start an exercise routine, a web site (www.goldsgym.com/adafitness) that features tips on fighting diabetes with fitness and a special discounted gym membership for anyone affected by the disease. The two organizations are also planning a national "Spin-a-thon" this November in honor of National Diabetes Month.
