Tasty Baking Company Supports the Fight Against Childhood Cancer Through Partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation

Tastykake re-issues Alex's Lemon Krimpets for summer months; 10% of all sales to be donated to ALSF

PHILADELPHIA, June 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tasty Baking Company (Nasdaq: TSTY), makers of the Tastykake snack line, today affirmed its ongoing support of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), by announcing the return of Alex's Lemon Krimpets(R) for summer 2009. As one of the nation's leading organizations in the fight against childhood cancer, ALSF was named for Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who raised more than $1 million for cancer research through her front-yard lemonade stand before her death at the age of 8 in 2004. Alex's Lemon Krimpet is the only Tastykake product ever to be named for an individual.

Alex's Lemon Krimpets, a lemon jelly-filled variation of the legendary sponge cake, has become a much anticipated, limited-edition product. Available everywhere Tastykakes are sold (while supplies last) for $4.19 per family pack or $1.49 for single serve, Tasty Baking Company will donate 10 percent of all proceeds from sales of this product to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The product is also available nationally via www.tastykake.com.
