Tao Formulations Announces the Official Launch of Tao Harmony - Menopause Relief Formula
Date:5/16/2008

WESTPORT, Conn., May 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Tao Formulations announces the official launch of Tao Harmony - Menopause Relief Formula, at the Internal Medicine 2008 conference in Washington DC. This revolutionary product is the culmination of years of research to develop a safe, all-natural, non-hormonal (estrogen-free) alternative for relieving menopausal symptoms.

Company founder and CEO, Dr. Adam Ofer, a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist, founded Tao Formulations (http://www.TaoFormulations.com) in an effort to help his patients. Over 80% of women suffer from hot flashes and night sweats during the hormonal transition into menopause. Many women also have significant negative changes in their mood and trouble sleeping. Due to mounting evidence that traditional hormone replacement therapy, including estrogen, carries dangerous risks, most women do not choose such therapy. Between 50% and 75% of menopausal women have tried some form of complimentary therapy to treat their symptoms. Until now, however, physicians have been hesitant to recommend herbal products due to the lack of good quality research and standardization of such herbal preparations. Tao Formulations has changed that by bringing the rigorous standards of the pharmaceutical industry to the formulation and production of Tao Harmony.

In a double-blind, randomized, controlled trial involving 164 women, Tao Harmony has been shown to reduce hot flash frequency in 83.5% of women. In those women, the number of hot flashes has been reduced by 82% and of the remaining hot flashes; the intensity was reduced by 57%. Women in the study also reported improvement in sleep (84.7% versus 44.3% with placebo) and improved mood (77.6% versus 34.2% with placebo). Most striking, is that 92.9% of women taking Tao Harmony "generally feel better" than they did prior to starting the study. Side-effects were no more than with placebo.
