Take Shape For Life Expecting Record Attendance at 2009 National Convention
Date:6/15/2009

OWINGS MILLS, Md., June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Take Shape For Life, the personal coaching division of Medifast, Inc. (NYSE: MED), is expecting a record number of independent Health Coaches at its annual National Convention. The Take Shape For Life National Convention 2009 will be held at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, AZ from July 9th to July 11th.

The anticipated record attendance of 1,200 Take Shape For Life Health Coaches represents a 60 percent increase from the 750 in attendance in 2008. National Convention is an exciting opportunity for Health Coaches to attend workshops and receive education on the latest Take Shape For Life training materials. This allows coaches to better support their clients as they guide them on their journey to achieve long-term optimal health.

"In a down economy, the trending across most industries has been a reduction in the attendance of conferences," said Michael S. McDevitt, Chief Executive Officer of Medifast, Inc. "Take Shape For Life's anticipated record attendance at National Convention 2009 is a strong testament to the viability and success of the weight-loss coaching business model."

Take Shape For Life National Convention also provides forums for Health Coaches to meet and greet, share success with each other and learn best practices from top coaches. At the convention, the Company will offer Health Coaches the opportunity to preview the latest training materials and tools as well as new products planned for launch later this year.

"This convention supports and educates our physician-led nationwide network of Health Coaches, leaving them with tangible tools to improve the weight-loss support they offer clients," added McDevitt. "Previous conventions have proven a catalyst in energizing and educating Health Coaches, resulting in improved effectiveness,
