TEAL Ottawa Launches Skin Imperfection Treatments by Thermo LO
Date:4/24/2013

Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) April 24, 2013

Ageing. It’s a natural process that all of us experience. There are some benefits, and some drawbacks. One of those in the latter category is the range of skin imperfection that can literally “pop up” out of nowhere such as small bumps and lumps of varying textures, and discolorations of all shapes and sizes on different parts of the body. For the most part, superficial conditions that are painless and harmless yet can be a source of considerable embarrassment and distress, particularly those that show up on the face.

Hundreds of creams and treatments claim to combat these conditions, but invariably those are chemical-based products that have the potential to cause more harm than good to the skin.

Fortunately TEAL, an Ottawa-based wellness clinic and holistic spa, is now providing a safe and effective treatment for minor skin imperfections as part of its range of high quality clinical and esthetic services.

Using ground-breaking technology known as Thermo LO, TEAL offers removal of skin tags, milia (whiteheads), sun spots, liver spots, spider veins and cholesterol deposits. Other conditions that are also treatable include actinic keratosis (rough, scaly patches of skin found on areas typically exposed to the sun), sebaceous hyperplasia (small yellow facial bumps), telangiectasia (red lesions on the skin caused by dilation of small blood vessels) and cherry angiomas - benign cherry-red “bumps” that develop alone or in groups, often on the torso and frequently on the face, scalp, neck, arms and legs.

This technique uses high frequency electrical current to dehydrate the top layer of the particular skin condition in order to allow new, healthy skin to grow. Unlike laser or intense pulsed light therapy, which can penetrate both the epidermis and the dermis (the outer and inner layers), sometimes leading to temporary or even permanent skin damage, Thermo LO works on the epidermis only. It can be applied precisely to the area to be treated, or, in other words, “treats the weeds and leaves the grass alone.”

“We are happy to add these important services to our range of treatments as part of the continuum of wellness care that we offer,” says TEAL’s Clinical Director, Seema Kudesia. “Using Thermo LO, we can provide our clients with a non-invasive and precise way to correct areas of their skin that make them feel self-conscious.”

The treatment itself can be done in minutes, is affordable and provides fast results.

Now – what we are all wondering – does it hurt? According to Seema, her clients have told her the level of discomfort is tolerable, especially as the treatment is done within a few minutes. Some have said the sensation is “like a tight pinch to the skin”, she notes. Also, no anesthesia is required.
