Case Management Society of America (CMSA) Recognizes TCS As First Software

Adopter

AUBURN, Calif., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- TCS Healthcare Technologies, an industry leader in the development of software and clinical solutions to improve medical management performance and effectiveness, announced today that it has fully operationalized the Case Management Adherence Guidelines(C) (CMAG) and related reports into the acuity advanced care(TM) System (ACUITY). TCS is also using them as an integral component of their AcuCare Programs (clinical content).

Cheri Lattimer, Executive Director, Case Management Society of America (CMSA) notes that "ACUITY was the first medical management software system to fully integrate the CMAG assessments and reports into its application and was recognized by CMSA for doing so last year. I am pleased to see the continued progress that TCS Healthcare Technologies is making by fully operationalizing CMAGs within ACUITY and into their clinical content."

Peter Moran, CMSA President, observed further that "the CMAG program was designed to help case managers aid in the assessment, planning, facilitation, and advocacy of patient adherence. They provide an interaction and management algorithm to assess and improve the patient's knowledge and his/her motivation to take medications as they are prescribed."

Rob Pock, TCS Healthcare Technologies Founder and CEO observed that "the goals for incorporating the CMAGs into ACUITY are to support CMSA in their initiative to incorporate adherence into the normal workflow, promote consistency in practice, improve productivity and efficiency, automate tasks and interventions, and improve the tracking and reporting of adherence outcomes."

Michael Escuder, R.Ph, COO, Town Total Health highlights that "the CMAG assessments within ACUITY has made a significant contribution regarding how our treatment programs impact several HIV special need populations in the New York City area. ACUITY's automated assessment tools incorporating the CMAGs help us determine the best medical management intervention for each HIV-positive individual in a customized and efficient manner. The ACUITY System saves time and resources which in turn allows us to spend more time on the phone with each patient to help promote a higher level of adherence."

Pat Stricker, RN, M Ed, Vice President of Clinical Services, remarked that "ACUITY's integrated medical management software provides the CMAG assessments at no charge to clients, so they can quickly and easily incorporate them into their normal workflow for case managers, as well as all other users of the system such as disease management and prevention/wellness programs. Having them readily available provides better adherence for using the tools and improves productivity and efficiency by eliminating duplicate documentation into another application or the need to complete written forms."

The following six CMAG assessments are available in the ACUITY system:

-- Health Literacy (REALM-R)

-- Medication Knowledge Survey

-- Readiness Ruler

-- Duke - UNC Functional Social Support Questionnaire (FSSQ)

-- Adherence Intention Score (Automated Scoring Assessment)

-- Modified Morisky Scale (MMS)
