Sysmex America Debuts High-end Sample Management System During AACC
Date:7/20/2009

MUNDELEIN, Ill., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Sysmex America, Inc., a leading medical diagnostic instrument manufacturer and information systems developer, today announced plans to unveil its new Sysmex TS-2000 Tube Sorter during this year's American Association of Clinical Chemistry's (AACC) Annual Conference and Clinical Lab Expo July 19 - 23 in Chicago, Illinois.

The Sysmex TS-2000 is a high-end sample management system with a speed of up to 800 samples per hour. As a part of the Sysmex Lavender Top Management(R) system, it is capable of automatically redirecting lavender top tubes for repeat/re-flex testing performed on the Sysmex HST-N(TM) hematology automation line or redirecting tubes for further testing onto an integrated A1c testing platform via the Bio-Rad VARIANT(TM) II TURBO Link. The Sysmex TS-2000 also can redirect lavender top tubes for sorting into laboratory defined shared sample targets for additional testing and final archiving. This integrated system is linked to the LIS through a single interface. It applies user-defined decision logic rules through the use of Sysmex WAM(TM) Hematology Clinical Decision Support Software, allowing the laboratory to maximize sample and data efficiency of >90% of lavender top samples and results.

The handling of the lavender top tests used in areas such as hematology and diabetes testing, slide making and staining, sorting and archiving, repeat testing and decision processes can be combined into a single automation platform - Sysmex's Lavender Top Management (LTM) solution. LTM combines the power of Sysmex's automation platform (HST-N) with decision logic software, Sysmex WAM Hematology Clinical Decision Support Software, to optimize data and sample management efficiency through a higher level of LIS collaboration. This solution offers clinical laboratories quality results, superior instrument and automation performance (uptime) and improved productivity turn around times (both hematology and A1c results) and labor utilization.

Sysmex America's booth exhibit, # 2025 also will showcase The Sysmex X-Series (XE, XS, and XT) automated hematology analyzers, the Sysmex UF-1000i(TM) automated urine cell analyzer, and the Sysmex HST-N automation platform with the TS-2000.

Additional products that will be displayed at the Sysmex booth include the Sysmex-distributed CellaVision(TM) digital cell morphology systems; the Diesse VES-matic(TM) automatic system for ESR analysis, the TS-2000 automated sample management system, Bio-Rad VARIANT II TURBO Link "on-demand" A1c analysis instrument and kiosk-presented information about the Sysmex Network Communications System and the Sysmex Customer Resource Center.

Sysmex America and Sysmex Canada associates from every area of the companies' key service groups will be on hand to speak with clinical laboratory professionals and physicians about Sysmex hematology, urinalysis and information system products.
