WHERE: Sheraton Boston Hotel, 39 Dalton St., Back Bay Ballroom D (on the second floor).

BACKGROUND: Drug resistance is a major public health concern, and the problem of resistance continues to grow. Recently, infectious disease modelers have begun to develop mathematical models for predicting the evolutionary dynamics of drug resistance. This symposium brings together experts in the real world of infectious diseases and mathematical modelers. Speakers show how models can be designed and analyzed so that theoretical work can have a significant effect on informing medical and public health decision-making processes.
