Swope Health Services Hires New CMO

After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Swope Health Services in Kansas City, Mo., has hired Dr. Naranath Chintala as chief medical officer. A seasoned physician executive, Dr. Chintala will assume his new duties at Swope Health Services on September 23.

“Naranath has a proven track record of building strong relationships and developing high-performing teams with a dedicated focus on driving quality through improved clinical and operational outcomes,” said Dave Barber, president and chief executive officer for Swope Health Services. “His strong operations and business acumen, leadership style and passion for serving the community align closely with the mission and values of our organization.”

Prior to joining Swope Health Services, Dr. Chintala held the role of chief medical officer and medical director for North Texas Area Community Health Center, a nonprofit organization in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Chintala provided physician leadership for three clinic sites and more than 65 employees including 10 providers.

“Swope Health Services was seeking an experienced physician executive to strategically lead medical operations for its eight clinics and mobile site consisting of more than 30 providers,” said Teresa Collins, vice president of executive search for B. E. Smith, the healthcare executive search firm who conducted the nationwide CMO search for Swope Health Services. “Naranath’s community healthcare experience and business acumen was a perfect fit. His leadership will effectively take the organization to the next level.”

Dr. Chintala, 33, earned a master’s degree in health services administration from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark., and a master’s degree in public health from New Me
